Ricardo Bohórquez Industrial Designer graduated at
University Jorge Tadeo Lozano in Bogotá/Colombia (UJTL)
at 1994. Established in Brasil since 1999, honored by a Master
degree on Design Management by Federal State University of Santa
Catarina (UFSC), Brazil.
1990 – Received the honorable mention for participating
in “SONY Design Vision’90” Contest promoted
by SONY Corporation in Tokyo, Japan.
1994 – Receives his first award, Gold Medalist
in ANDINAPACK’94 packaging design contest at Medellín,
Colombia. In the same year received the pretigious WORLDSTAR
FOR PACKAGING’94 award promoted by World Packaging Organisation
(WPO), Birminghan/England.
1995 – Finalist nominated for the Braun Prize’95
industrial design contest promoted by Braun at Kromberg/Germany.
In the same year Metamorfosis Design is founded
in Bogotá/Colombia from where accomplished design consultings
for companies such as Xerox Colombia, Colombian Packaging
Centre and Artesanias of Colombia.
1996/1997 – Invited to promote design consultings,
industrial design and products development in Brazil at the
Industrial Design Lab of Brazil (LBDI). In the same period,
received the Silver Medal on ANDINAPACK’96 at Bogotá/Colombia.
2000 – Received the first prize on First Brazilian
Paper Card Packing Awards promoted by BRACELPA (Brazilian
Association of Paper Producers) at São Paulo/Brazil.
2003 – Metamorfoses Design
is founded in Brazil from where accomplished design consultings
for companies such as ARNO Household-electric from SEB Group
International, Britânia Household-electric S.A., Tigre
S.A., ATLAS Household-electric, FOGATTI Household-electric,
MASTERFRIO, FGM Odontologic Products, KANGO of Brazil (stadium
chairs), PLASVALE Plastic Products, among others. Simultaneously
to professional work, developed other activities related on
design field, such as: design teacher and conferencist for
universities in Colombia, Brazil and Mexico.
2004 – Finalist nominated for the Design Prize
of “Museu Casa Brasileira” with two new product
designs. Actually invited by Design College of Monterrey Institute
of Technology to implement the Design Center of that Institute.
Publications: his works have been published by design-related
magazines like: Habitad del periodico el tiempo (Colombia),
Proyecto Diseño (Colombia), Electrolar (Brazil), Bannas
(Brazil), ARC Design (Brazil) and the “A Notícia”
newspaper (Brazil).
